We are looking for a local group to produce a film telling the story of the town’s most iconic building – more details below.
Background
Market Harborough & the Bowdens Charity owns the Old Grammar School which it has been using on a temporary basis as its office for a few years. We anticipate vacating the building in the next 18-24 months.
The Charity has long wanted to make the building more accessible. As a Grade 1 listed building there are limits to the structural changes that can be made, but a film would be a way of making it more accessible while bringing its fascinating history to life.
Specification
We would love to hear from any local groups/individuals who would be interested in producing a film which should:
- Be capable of being split into sections
- Be capable of being used on different social media platforms and website
- Involve local actors, groups and schools
Cost
The Charity is prepared to make a financial contribution for this work.
Timetable
Whilst there is no immediate rush to produce this film, we are seeking partners to work on this and would like to hear from any group or individual by 31st December 2025.

There is a lot of material to draw on, including:
• The pamphlet “A History Spanning 400 years”.
• Books on the town include: A History of Market Harborough – A History Vol 1&2.
• Films – we believe the Harborough Filmmakers may have access to footage.
• Market Harborough Museum.
